What I do
My name is Juditte.
I am passionate about helping people who struggle with food and disordered eating patterns move into a relaxed and peaceful relationship with food. In my sessions we reflect on our thoughts, feelings and emotions, and how these relate to our eating patterns. I don't do nutritional therapy in the ordinary sense by creating meal plans or educating about "healthy" eating. In my experience most people know the basics of how to eat healthy.
In my sessions I help people identify where they are caught in difficult eating patterns or destructive cycles, and find a way out. These patterns can look different for each person, but some common ones are; weight gain, binge-eating episodes, weight-cycling, strict diets, severe restrictions, extreme food and/or workout regimes. In addition, many people spend a lot of time doing mental calculations about what to eat, and feeling guilty or shameful about their food choices.
Together we explore where you might be using food as a tool to cope with other things in your life. I dont promote self-discipline or encourage you to change your diet. We work on identifying how food is serving a purpose in your life, which purpose this is, and how we can find tools better equipped to serve that purpose. My belief is that if we can identify this, disordered eating patterns naturally fall away.
My goal is that food should be experienced as something easy that takes up little space, so that life can be filled with other things. I struggled with disordered eating for years, and know how much time, energy and joy it can steal from life. I have tried countless diets, followed strict food regimes and been trapped in binge-eating patterns. When I finally realised I had to heal my relationship with food all together, everything changed. Today I have a joyful, fun, balanced and easy relationship with food. I truly believe this is possible for anyone, no matter how much you've struggled with food so far. By getting back in touch with our emotions, we regain trust that that body is fully capable of regulating food on its own.
